Aurora C. Gonzalez

Aurora Castaño Gonzalez 82, passed away on January 16, 2023. She was born in Lampazos de Naranjo, Nvo. Leon, Mexico, raised in Nuevo Laredo, and moved to Laredo, TX in 1963.

Ms. Gonzalez is preceded in death by her parents Vicente and Maria de los Angeles Castaño. Sisters: Ma. De los Angeles Castaño de Barrera (Raul), Leonor Castaño Garza (Filemon), Ma. Elena Castaño Benavides (Cesar), Ma. Luisa Castaño Gutierrez (Joel), Judith Castaño Flores (Hugo) as well as nephew Raul, nieces Monica Barrera Castaño, Chalay Guarneros de Barrera and Maria de los Angeles Barrera de Diaz-Miron, and grand-nephew Giovanni Rossini. 

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Rene Gonzalez, Jesus Vicente Gonzalez (Claudia), Angel Gonzalez (Sonia) and Aurora Infante (Rey). Grandchildren, Kasey Cristina Broom (DJ), Alexander Xavier Gonzalez, Mary Jose Almendares, Anyssa Salazar (Cesar), Reynaldo Infante III, Viviana Gonzalez, and Daniel Gonzalez. As well as, great grandchildren Kylah Broom, Alivia Alexandrea Salazar, Rose Adeline Salazar and Jackson Ezekiel Salazar. Also, a very close friend that always acted as a daughter, Norma Valdez. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who helped create beautiful memories during her life.

The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations Chapel, 310 W Hillside Rd. Laredo, Texas 78041. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 23, 2023, from Hillside Funerals and Cremations to St. Patrick Catholic Church where a mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am.

Services conclude at the church. A cremation will take place at a later date.
