Benjamin Schwartz

Benjamin Schwartz, 87, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 23, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Schwartz was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a postal carrier with the United States Postal Service for 37 years. He was a dedicated parishioner of San Martin de Porres Catholic Church and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Assembly 1129. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Consuelo Schwartz; siblings Charles Schwartz Jr, Manuela Cortez, and Eliza Bishop. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elisa Piñeyro Schwartz; daughters Elisa Sara Schwartz and Angelica Noemi Schwartz-Hernandez (Ricardo Jr.); sister Guadalupe (Oscar) Ramirez; grandchildren Joaquin Alberto and Valentin Benicio Hernandez and Sofia Elissa Santos, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. There will be no formal procession. Family and friends are asked to meet at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
