Carlos Cabello Jr., 84, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many passed away peacefully Sunday, January 30, 2022, surrounded by his family in Laredo, Texas. Carlos was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. After retiring from LISD where he taught for 29 years, he dedicated himself to managing his rental properties. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.Carlos’ favorite pastime was spending Sundays with his family having carne asadas.
Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos (Porfiria+) Cabello Sr., and siblings, Hector Cabello and Beatrice (Salvador+) Carrizales.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over 50 years, Elia Cabello; daughters, Mona Liza Cabello (Ricardo), Larissa (Ricardo) Perusquia, and Melissa Cabello; grandchildren, Karla (Frank) Villa, Jennifer (Ramiro) Cabello, Karina (Victor) Martinez, Karissa (Indio) Martinez, Malyssa Perusquia, Ricardo Perusquia Jr., and Ricardo Pedraza; great-grandchildren, Vanessa Villa, Jay Villa, Gabriel Garza, Eliott Garza, and Aria Pedraza. He is also survived by his siblings, Deanira (Edmundo+) Garcia, Consuelo (Teo) Salinas, Homero (Alicia) Cabello, and Rogelio Cabello; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.
Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Perusquia Jr., Ricardo Pedraza, Ramiro Garza, Frank Villa, Victor Dehoyos, Rick Pedraza, Ricardo Perusquia, and Rogelio Cabello Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Homero Cabello and Rogelio Cabello.
