Celia M. Mora's love for life and family didn’t come to an end with her death. Celia entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2021, at the age of 89 after a natural illness, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
She was born on May 27, 1932, in Laredo, Texas. After graduating from high school, Celia met her husband, Roberto Mora. For many years Celia volunteered at Laredo Christian Academy, preparing meals for students and staff. It suited her servant heart.
Celia loved spending time in her beloved kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Holiday gatherings were very special to her. Early in life she enjoyed traveling, dancing, singing, and swimming.
Mrs. Mora was preceded in death by her parents, Cruz and Consuelo Montaño, and her sister, Gloria Hilburn.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roberto Mora; her three daughters, Selina Mora, Gloria (Martin) Torres, and Monica Mora; grandchildren, Alexis (Joe David) Garza and Jordan Reid Torres; 6 great grandchildren, Naveah Torres, Isaiah Torres, Adan Torres, Haylen Torres, Audra Garza, and Jaxsen Garza. She is also survived by her brothers, Luis Montaño and Cruz Jorge Montaño; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends which she loved and touched deeply.
A chapel service will be officiated by Pastor Tony Gutierrez on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family asks that anyone who wishes to honor Celia’s memory wear emerald color, which was her birthstone.
