Charles Cealio Light

Charles Cealio Light, born March 26, 1971, in Wichita Falls, TX and passed away on August 10, 2024. He was a long-time resident of Laredo, TX, where he made a home filled with laughter and love.

Charles graduated from Martin High School and spent his life building connections that mattered most. He was an advocate for the sport that he loved which was running and was the "light" of the party. Charles is survived by his parents: Basilio and Angela Light; his siblings: Basilio Light Jr. (Theresa), Shirley Light, and Robert Light (Jennifer); his girlfriend of 12 years Cynthia Silva.

He was a dedicated father to his three children: Jeniffer Higgins (Crawford II), Ashley Pineda (Hector), and Jarid Light as well as Ruben, Joel, Mia, and Laura Villarreal; seven grandchildren: Desmond Pineda, Crawford A. Higgins III, Charles A. Higgins, Cayson A. Higgins, Alejandro Pineda, Nathaniel Pineda, and Caroline A. Higgins, who brought him immense joy. Aside from being a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he was a loving uncle to numerous nephews and nieces.

His family and friends will remember him as the life of the party, always ready with a joke and a smile. He enjoyed running with the Laredo Morning Crew and spending time with the people he loved.

His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.

A visitation will be held in Charles's honor at Hillside Funeral Home in Laredo, TX, on Thursday, August 15,  from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.

The funeral procession  will depart the funeral chapel at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16, to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

The procession will form and end at the Laredo City Cemetery, where the Rite of Committal and Interment will follow.
