Dionicio Alvarez, 67, was called to return to the house of his Savior Jesus Christ on December 20, 2024, in Laredo, Texas

Dionicio is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Alvarez & Graciela Rodriguez & brother, Carlos Rodriguez (Elvira Herrera).

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gerarda Lara, children: Hermelinda Lara, Jose Luis Lara, Rodrigo Lara (Carolina), Amy Lara (Jose Martinez), Esmeralda Sarabia (Eduardo), Graciela Alvarez (Sergio Garcia), 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings: Santos Alvarez (Juanita), Juana Rodriguez (+Carlos), Guadalupe Rodriguez (Guillermo), & Martin Rodriguez (Diana Castañeda), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 5 to 10 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a Prayer Service will commence at 6 pm and a Rosary at 7.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 27, 2024 at San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church at 10 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Eduardo Sarabia, Jose Luis Lara, Rodrigo Lara, Sergio Garcia, Paul Huizar, Carlos Rodriguez Jr., & Jose Alberto Cruz Jr.
