Dr. Milton Haber

Dr. Haber passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2023.

He was a local physician who practiced Internal Medicine in his hometown of Laredo, Texas since 1987.  Dr. Haber also the founder of Laguna Research Center and Urgent Care on Del Mar. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Rosa Haber. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rita Koch Haber, and his two children, Paul Michael Haber, and Dr. Mariellen Rose Perez Haber.  He is also survived by his two siblings, Dr. Brenda Haber-Ruttenberg of Seattle, WA and brother, Charles Haber of Laredo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Dr. Haber was born in Mercy Hospital on 16 May, 1952, the son of Maurice and Rosa Haber, deceased.  He graduated from Nixon High School and the University of Houston,  before earning his Medical Degree in 1980, from La Universidad Autonoma de Medicina, Monterrey, Mexico.  Dr. Haber completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Ohio Valley Medical Center Wheeling WV in 1986 where he met his love Rita, a registered nurse. After returning home to Laredo,  he started a medical practice and continued to love and serve his community with total heartfelt dedication. Dr. Milton Haber will be greatly missed by all. 

Family will begin to receive condolences on Thursday, May 18 2023 from 4pm to 9pm. A religious Rosary service will begin at 7pm, led by Deacon Joe Longoria, taking place at the Hillside Funeral Home located at 310 W Hillside Rd Laredo, TX. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Hillside Funeral Home, on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:30 am. Visitation will commence at 10 am.  

Funeral procession will form and depart the Hillside Funeral Home chapel at 12:30 for a 1:00 pm Graveside Service at the Jewish Rest section of the Laredo City Cemetery located at 3200 N Meadow Ave. Rabbi Gabriel Friedman will be officiating the Jewish service. 

Pallbearers include the following:  Mr. Charles Haber, Mr. Paul Michael Haber, Dr. Frank Ruttenberg, Dr. Todd Ruttenberg, Mr. Jose Sillas, Mr. Hector Medina, Mr. Robert Norton, and Dr. Eugenio Perez.

Honorary Pallbearers are: the many physicians and medical staff in Laredo and San Antonio, Texas, as well Dr. Haber’s nurses and medical staff of his private practice, Laguna Urgent Care Clinic and Clinical Research, and the many patients that he had the honor to serve since 1987.

Dr. Haber’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his family, friends, and associates that have provided help and support throughout this difficult time.
