Eloy "Nene" Cantu

Our dearest father Eloy “Nene” Cantu, 78 was called by the Lord on Sunday March 25th 2018, surrounded by his loving family.   Our daddy was the pillar of the Cantu family. He was an amazing, loving, husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shanelle Cantu; parents, Doroteo and Guadalupe Garza- Cantu; siblings, Doroteo Cantu Jr, Jesus Cantu, Ernesto Cantu, Gilberto Cantu, Rodolfo Cantu Sr, Alfredo Cantu, Romana Cantu, Hermelinda Hinojosa. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years Alicia H. Cantu; his beloved children Rene (Olga) Cantu, Marissa (Roy) Rodriguez, Melissa Cantu, Miriam Cantu (Pedro) Hernandez, Jennifer  Cantu (Fernando Atilano); beloved grandchildren, Joshua David Cantu, Clarissa Cantu, Esteban Cantu, Pete Jonathan Hernandez, Katarina Rodriguez, Paola Ximena Hernandez, Giovanni Rodriguez, Giselle Cantu- Atilano, Natalia Cantu-Atilano; great grandson, Christopher David Cantu and many, many friends and dear family. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery.
