Francisca Martinez known to all that loved her as “Panchita” was called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 29th, 2022 at the age of 100.
Panchita was known for her big heart. She was raised in Nuevo Laredo where she owned a beauty salon before moving to the United States. During her life, she touched many lives and showered everyone with love. She was known for her beautiful flower garden, delicious cooking, and enjoying a cold one as she watched her baseball games.
Ms. Martinez is preceded in death by her son, Rogelio Cantu; grandson, Juan Mojica Jr.; parents, Ramon Martinez and Maria Flores; siblings, Telesforo Martinez, Ramon Martinez, Alfonso Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Luz Maria Valdez, Juanita Martinez, and Francisco Martinez.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Maria M. Cantu; grandchildren, Maria M. Garza (Jesus Johnson), Roberto (Sandra) Garza, Claudia (Sergio) Monreal, Ana Laura Cantu, Jose (Beatriz) Mojica, Rogelio Cantu Jr. (Jessica Martinez), and Cindy Cantu (Honorable Judge Jesus M. Dominguez). She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Gonzalez, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roberto Garza, Roberto Garza Jr., Rogelio Cantu Jr., Sergio Monreal, Julio Monreal, Marco Antonio Rios Jr., Leonardo Cantu, Jesus Johnson, and Enrique Perez.
A rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 9:30 A.M. from Hillside Funeral Home to Christ the King Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Services will conclude at the church.
Cremation will take place at a later date.
