Gail Ann Cavazos Gail Ann Cavazos was called to rest in the Lord on December 8, 2018 in Laredo, Texas, at the age of 74. Gail was born July 9, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. She graduated first in her class from high school in Mineral Wells, Texas, and received a degree in medical technology from the University of Texas at Galveston. She later earned a degree in accounting from Laredo Junior College and became a CPA. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed skiing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Nadine Blissitte; and her grandparents, Jack and Eunice West. Gail is survived by her husband, Miguel Angel Cavazos, Jr.; her children Patricia Cavazos, Cynthia (David) Kowert, Carlos (Lara) Cavazos, and Victoria (Timothy) Gleeson; her grandchildren Benjamin and Emma Kowert, Nathaniel, Olivia, and Sophia Cavazos, and Margaret, Ryan, and Shannon Gleeson; her father, Lt. Col. Jon G. (Reba) Blissitte; her sister, Trita Corbitt; her brothers, Scott and Brett Blissitte; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers are Carl Barto, Michael Hickey, Jose Luis Cavazos, Jr, James Hickey, Matthew Barto, and Federico Cavazos. Honorary pallbearers are Mario Gonzalez, Dr. Jorge Cavazos, Miguel Angel Cavazos, Guillermo J. Cavazos, Jr. The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Dennis Cantu, her physician, for taking such wonderful care of her during her illness as well as her caretakers Raquel, Yudi, Flor, and Delia for all their support and tender care. The visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am followed by a rosary at Hillside Funeral Home. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 12:30pm at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
