Gloria Lozano

Gloria Lozano, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 surrounded by family members. Gloria studied nursing in Monterrey, Mexico and earned a degree as a registered nurse. She immigrated to the U.S. and continued her career as a nurse, working in Chicago. Gloria transferred to Laredo and worked at the old Mercy Hospital for many years until her retirement, which she enjoyed in San Antonio.Ms. Lozano was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Francisca Lozano and siblings, John Lozano and Jesse Lozano.She is survived by her children, Gloria (Jose Daniel) Ortiz and Marco Antonio Palos; grandchildren, Gloria Teresa (Albert) Salinas, Alexandra Victoria (Jaime) Garcia and Daniela Monique Ortiz; great-grandchildren, Arnold, Michael and Eveleia; and siblings, Maria Carre, Elva Gonzalez and Larry Lozano. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m.Interment will follow in the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
