Gudelia Martinez

Gudelia Martinez, 93, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Martinez born in Rio Grande City, Texas, and a lifetime resident of Laredo, was a devout Catholic and member of the Hijas de Maria, Catholic Daughters of America, and San Franciscanas.

Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Carlos A. Martinez Sr., parents, Adolfo Gonzalez and Maria Sanchez; parents-in-law, Teodoro, and Adelfa Martinez; brother, Javier Gonzalez and 3 other siblings; brothers-in-law, Heberto J. Martinez and Robert L. Roach; sister-in-law, Hilda Martinez; and niece, Oralia Roach.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nelda I. (Bernardo Jr.) Navarro and Carlos A. (Adriana) Martinez Jr.; grandchildren, Nelda I. Navarro, Bernardo Navarro III, and Nicolas Martinez; sister, Oralia G. Roach; sister-in-law, Lydia Martinez; nephews, Jorge L. Gonzalez and Philip Vallejo. Mrs. Martinez is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A chapel service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home chapel. A formal procession will depart at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
