Homero Arce

On January 30, 2024, God called Homero Arce to his heavenly home at the age of 95. Born on October 5, 1928 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the son of the late Marcelino and Tomasita Garza Arce. He had been a resident of Laredo his entire life.

He is preceded in death by his spouse: Elia C. Arce; parents: Marcelino and Tomasita Garza Arce; sister: Emma A. (Jose F.) Paez; sister: Alicia (Ruben) Rendon; brother: Manuel (Teresa) Arce.

Surviving him are his nieces and nephews: Angelica (Roberto) Cantu, Diana (Felipe) de la Peña, Patricia (Gerardo) Peña, Jose Luis (Dinora) Paez, Javier (Laura) Paez, as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to his caregivers: Victoria Cantu, Matthew Cantu, Lorena Ortiz, and Fabiola Lopez.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 8 to 11 am at Hillside Funerals & Cremations.

A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the chapel at 11 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Roberto Cantu, Jose Luis Paez, Javier Paez, Gerardo Peña, Matthew Cantu, and Felipe de la Peña.
