Israel Perez

Israel Perez, 72, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Laredo, Texas. He served in the Army 101st Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War. Mr. Perez is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Dora Perez; son, Israel Perez Jr, mother-in-law, Gloria Hinojosa. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Gloria Perez; daughter, Gloria (Bruce) Carter; grandchildren, David Hernandez, Sahara Donna, Grace Carter, Joshua Carter, and Garret Carter; siblings, Jose (Maria) Perez, Samuel (Anita) Perez, Emilia (John+) Niemela, Lucia Perez Hicks, Nora (Daniel) Sapien, Diannie (Juan) Garcia, and Gerardo (Diana) Perez; father-in-law, Rafael Hinojosa. Mr. Perez is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A prayer service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Departure will be after the chapel service to the City of Laredo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Samuel Perez Jr., Jesus Guerra, David Hinojosa, Bruce Carter, Gerardo Perez, Michael Perez, and Juan Garcia. The family would like to thank Mr. Perez’ sister Emilia for her tender love and care during his last days of his battle. Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Road.
