Jesus Lopez, 95, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Lopez was a World War II Veteran, was involved in The Normandy Campaign landing at Omaha and Utah Beach invasions. Battles and Campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, G0 105 WD 45. Decorations and Citations: EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, 1 Service Stripe and 4 Overseas Service Bars, Rifle Marksman, Truck Driver Heavy Equipment with considerable Blackout Driving. He was employed by Stubintz & Green as a factory laborer in Adrian, Michigan for 33 years. Mr. Lopez will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife Beatriz Lopez; siblings, Felix Lopez, Federico Lopez, Jose Lopez, Antonia Rendon, Celia Lopez, and Hortencia Esparza. Mr. Lopez is survived by his children, Zulema (Merlyn) Miller, Beatriz Irene (Kenneth) Miller, Rosalinda (Michael) Ryan, Angelica (Scott) Burgermeister, and Federico (Patricia) Lopez; grandchildren, Tonie Aracena, Aaron Lopez, Tomas A. Miller, Marcelina De La Garza, Elizabeth Miller Block, Katherine Ryan, Robin Ryan, and Alexa Rae Lopez; brother, Oscar Lopez. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Military Honors will be provided by the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard.
