John Edward Saenz, 47, entered eternal rest on November 14, 2023, in Laredo, Texas. Always a man of great compassion, dedication, love and all-around happy person, he leaves behind many cherished memories. John loved to work out daily, as well as spending time with his family. He loved to barbecue and listen to rock music. His dream was to become a U.F.C. fighter.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Arturo V. Garcia and Paula G. Garcia; paternal grandparents: Rafael Saenz and Thelma Saenz, father: Manuel Arturo Saenz Sr.; uncles: Javier Saenz, Juan Eduardo Saenz and his aunts: Norma Saenz and Beatriz Alicia Saenz.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother: Sara Alicia G. Saenz; siblings: Manuel Arturo Saenz Jr., Sara Alicia Saenz, Carly Botello; nieces and nephews: Willow Dian Saenz, Matthew Cody Saenz, Gideon Isaiah Mata, Addison Saenz, Araceli Elani Saenz, and Angela Firestone and family, and Ginger Saenz; aunts and uncles: Diana C. Sanchez (Armando), Maria de Jesus Flores (Severiano), Ralph Saenz (Maria), Serafin Saenz, Gisela Valdez (Ricardo), Delia Saenz; step-mother: Carmen Saenz, as well as numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, with a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary to be offered at 7 pm.

Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 am on Monday, November 27, 2023, to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
