Jorge Venegas, Sr.

Mr. Jorge Venegas, Sr., 75, passed away on January 29, 2025, in Laredo, Texas. Born on September 14, 1949, in Laredo, Texas, the son of the late Raul and Reynalda Venegas.

Mr. Venegas was employed as a truck driver at the Webb County Road and Bridge. He then continued his career and retired from the Laredo Ready Mix. One of his favorite things to do was listen to Tejano music and enjoy time with his family. 

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Jaime Venegas (Yolanda Venegas), Gloria Holguin (Victor Holguin), and Esperanza "Hope" Muñoz.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife: Josefina Martinez Venegas; children: Jorge (Arabela) Venegas Jr., Samuel Venegas, Armando (Veronica) Venegas, Gerardo (Susana) Venegas, Licela (Daniel) Venegas, Guillermo (Joanna) Venegas; 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Raul Venegas Jr. (Elva), Ruben Venegas (Idalia), Homero Venegas (Ana), Sergio Venegas (Concepcion), Ricardo Venegas (Janie), Patricia Vela (Danny), Gabina Sada (Martin Sada), Sylvia Gomez (Juan Martin+), Olga Flores, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.

Visitation will continue Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 7 am to 10 am. Procession will form and depart the funeral chapel at 10 am to St. Francis "Mother Cabrini" Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am.

A cremation will be held at a later date.
