Jose Manuel Ferdin

Our Lord Jesus Christ called Jose Manuel Ferdin to his Heavenly home on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Laredo, Texas. He was born on July 1, 1954 in Laredo, Texas, the son of Martin and Maria Guadalupe Ferdin, whom he now joins in Heaven.

Preceding him in death are his parents; grandson: Baby Ricky; siblings: Juan Martin Ferdin, Juanita G. Vela.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved and adored wife of 49 years of marriage: Maria del Consuelo Martinez de Ferdin; children: Patricia (Jesus Gonzalo Sr.) Guadalupe Martinez, Jose Manuel Ferdin Jr., Ricardo (Nalleli) Ferdin, Cynthia Araceli (Ricardo) Arenal, Luis Antonio (Mirna Alaniz) Ferdin, Reymundo Daniel (Sugeily) Ferdin; grandchildren: Jesus Gonzalo Martinez Jr., Gerardo Jose Martinez, Juan Joel Martinez, Delilah Jannette Martinez, Eric James Ferdin, Jose Manuel Ferdin III, Alexandra Lynnette Ramos-Ferdin, Edgar Omar Ramos-Ferdin, Ricardo Ferdin Jr., Alexa Maryse Ferdin, Bella Arenal, Araceli Arenal, Romeo Arenal, Maximiliano Peña, Diego Alberto Peña, Troy Jordan Ferdin, Reymundo Daniel Ferdin Jr.; sister-in-law: Juanita Ferdin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend thier most heartfelt gratitude to his long-time physician, Dr. Winder Nelson Vasquez, not only for his excellent care, but his friendship and attention to our beloved Jose Manuel.

The family will gather to celebrate his life on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 pm.

Funeral procession will begin at 8:30 am, departing the chapel to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jose Manuel Ferdin Jr., Ricardo Ferdin, Luis Antonio Ferdin, Reymundo Daniel Ferdin, Jesus Gonzalo Martinez Sr., and Ricardo Arenal.
