Josefina Linares Guerra

Josefina Linares Guerra, 96, passed away on January 4, 2021 in Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carmen Guerra Jr., parents, Roman and Flavia Linares; siblings, Cecilia Martinez and Bertha Alvarado.

Mrs. Guerra is survived by her children, Ramiro J. Guerra, Esther (Raul) Casares, Irene (Jose Luis) Velasquez, Thelma G. (Bill) Sirman, Elma and Dr.Steve Minor, and Martha (Jorge A.) Garza; grandchildren, Connie Bell, Kathy, Linda, Raul Jr. Casares, Ashley (Ryan) Eyer, Jason (Eva) Sirman, Kimberly Sirman, Stephanie Mendiola, Stacey (Antonio) Canas, Cynthia (O.T.) Jennings, Jorge Garza II, Zelina (Leo) Garcia, Kristina (Alex) Rendon, Michael Garza, and Jennifer Velasquez; great-grandchildren, Ilyana and Antonio Cañas Jr., Aly Bell, Ira, and Kathlene Jennings, Naomi, Alexa, and Jorge Garza III, Karen Rendon, Daniel Ramos Jr., Stella, and Eli Sirman, and Jackson and Emery Eyer; brothers, Teodoro (Lydia) Linares and Tony Barro. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A private family visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Interment of ashes will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery Veterans Section.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
