Juan Carlos Velasquez, Sr.

Juan Carlos Velasquez, Sr., 77, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Mr. Velasquez was preceded in death by his sister: AngelicaV. Zardenetta from Pasadena, TX; his brother: Francisco Velasquez of Laredo, TX; sister: Irma Dora V. Peña of Ft. Worth, TX; and his mother: Antonia D. Velasquez.

He is survived by his son: Juan Carlos Velasquez Jr. and daughter: Monica R. Hernandez; his former wife: Linda I. Arreguin; long-time companion: Doris Dalrymple; his sister-in-law: Irma Velasquez; nieces: Irma V. Peña of San Antonio, TX, Gloria Andres of Aledo, TX, Francisco Velasquez Jr. of San Antonio, TX; Alicia V. Walker of San Antonio, TX, and Sarita V. Hall of San Antonio, TX; his maternal cousins Lilia V. Serna of Laredo, TX, Rodolfo Velasquez +, of Laredo, TX,  Salvador Velasquez + of Laredo, TX, Arturo de Leon, Joe de Leon, John de Leon and Steve de Leon, all of Chicago, IL; his beloved grandchildren Alexandra N. Velasquez, Carla Hernandez, Victoria Hernandez and Sophia O. Hernandez.

Juan Carlos was a graduate of Martin High School, Class of 1964, as well as St. Joseph's Academy. Juan Carlos was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during and in the Vietnam War. He worked for Community Action Agency and was a co-owner of City Trucking and Storage Company.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9th, 2023, from 5 to 8 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations.

A cremation will take place at a later date.

Interment with Military Honors will take place at the Laredo City Cemetery-Veterans Columbarium. Honors will be provided by the US Marine Corp Honor Guard from Ft. Stockton and the American Legion Post 59.
