Julian Garza Flores, 80, entered into the eternal kingdom of heaven on Friday, December 22, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on November 1st, 1937 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Julian worked 42 years at Ramon Barrios y Compañia until he retired in 2008. Julian will be deeply missed and remembered by his family as a great father with loving advice to spare and a loving grandfather. He had the heart and soul of a child, always having the time to play with his grandchildren. Besides his immediate family Julian’s love and care extended to several close friends who will miss him as well. Their love and loyalty will be cherished and remembered forever. Julian was a very strong person who never gave up and fought until the last day of his life. God will give us the strength to live without him. We will forever love you, Papa. Julian Garza Flores is preceded in death by his parents, Julian Garza Salinas and Olivia Flores Cuellar; his beloved sister, Belia Garza Flores. He is survived by his wife of 39 years of marriage, Irma R. Garza; children, Jorge (Imelda) Garza, Manuel (Carmen) Garza, Blanca (Juan) Rojas, Martha (Raul) Garza, Maria Teresa Garza, Adolfo Garza, Irma Oralia (Ricardo) Rodriguez, Rosa Elia (Richard) Martinez; grandchildren, other real relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from Hillside Funeral Home to Christ the King Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
