Lauro Banda, Jr.
April 11, 1993 – June 2, 2023
Lauro Banda, Jr. was a caring father, husband, brother, nephew, cousin, and beloved friend. He left this world suddenly and much too soon on June 2, 2023, at the age of 30 years.
Best known for his cowboy hat and boots, Larry was born to Lauro Banda and Gabriela Escobedo on April 11, 1993, in Laredo, Texas. The third of five siblings and the first boy, he was immediately a comedian at heart. As a kid he loved watching movies, remembering all the funny lines, and he did the world's best impression of Ace Ventura. And no matter how much he tormented his siblings with his nonstop joking and goofiness, he also made sure to always protect them. Like his dad, Larry loved sports. He played baseball and football as a kid and went on to play Defensive End on JW Nixon High School's Varsity Football team. After high school, Larry shared his love of sports with others by coaching peewee football. Larry was a light in the lives of so many, but that light shone brighter when he became a dad to his two beautiful kids. He was their world and they were his.
Larry leaves behind his children, Maddie and Mason Banda; his wife, Kassandra Garcia; his parents; his siblings: Victoria (Eduardo Martinez) Banda, Vivian (Peter Guerrero) Banda, Lorenzo Banda, and Robert Banda; his aunt and uncle, Roland and Cindy Banda; his stepmother, Joanna Banda; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and friends that will cherish his memory forever.
Larry was the life and soul of the party everywhere he went. His laugh was contagious, his smile radiated happiness and his jokes had you doubled over in the kind of laughter that hurts. But he loved as hard as he laughed and he never turned down a friend that was in need. "Oh, the last goodbye's the hardest one to say. This is where the cowboy rides away."
