Lucy L. Villarreal

January 3, 1928 — February 22, 2021

Lucy L. Villarreal, 93, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 22, 2021, in Laredo, Texas.

Born to Steve and Luz Litman on January 03, 1928, she was the 5th of 11 children.  After graduating from Martin High School class of ‘46, she worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell telephone company.  She was happily married to Nicandro Villarreal Jr. for 40 years until his passing on November 27, 1988.  After raising 7 children, she then returned to work as a secretary for L.I.S.D. at Buenos Aires School for many years, retiring in 1985.

She was a life-long devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where she also taught catechism with her mother, Luz, as her assistant. She was a proud member of the "Guadalupanas" for many years and also served as a Eucharistic minister for home-bound parishioners.

Beyond being a proud and loving daughter, wife, mother, and Catholic, she extended her love and adoration to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her quotes, stories, words of wisdom, and unconditional love will be missed but never forgotten by anyone who had the honor to know her.

Villarreal; siblings-in-law, Armando Villarreal, Adalberto (Antonieta) Villarreal, Alfredo (Elvira) Villarreal, and Elia (Jose) Collazo; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Villarreal.

(Joaquin+) Romero, George (Theresa) Litman, Pedro “Pete” (Elena+) Litman, Jane (Jesus+) Garcia, and Jesse (Kathy+) Litman; and sisters-in-law, Elisa V. Gutierrez, and Elodia Litman.
