Margarete Cardenas Barrientos

Margarete Cardenas Barrientos, 88, born in Seguin, TX left to our heavenly destination on Saturday, October 27, 2018. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and loved ones, as she went to be with our Lord. Although she was not born in Laredo, TX, Margarita was a lifelong resident. Margerete, also known as Margarita or Margie, was a retired social worker who worked for Community Action Agency (CAA). She was a loving, strong, and graceful woman. She completely embodies the words, independent and fearless, for their entirety. She was a woman of great adventures and truly lived a life filled with endless moments, wonderful memories and countless laughs. Apart from living her own life to its fullest, she encouraged others to do so as well, and after having done so, she became a role model for her entire family to look up too. Margarete Cardenas Barrientos is preceded in death by her parents Jose Cardenas and Consuelo Garcia Bocca (Emilio Giovanni Bocca); eldest sister, Angelita Bocca Garcia (Gloria Diane Garcia Tedrow) and San Juan Peña. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: May Emily Diaz (Imelda Patino), Jose Alberto Aguilar (Liza Michelle Aguilar) Jayden Aleksander Aguilar, Francisco Barrientos (Isabela Andrea Barrientos, Estevan Francisco Barrientos).A rosary will be recited on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
