Maria Guadalupe Aguilar, born December 19, 1959 in Laredo, TX, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 64.
Lupita, as she was affectionately known by all who knew her, graduated from Nixon High School and earned her Associate's Degree in Human Services from Laredo Community College (LCC).
She enjoyed a successful career doing what came naturally to her: helping others. Throughout the years, she guided people from Webb County through health care, housing and cable options.
The daughter of Aurora Espinoza and Luis Espinoza, Lupita is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Luis Espinoza and Maria Espinoza, Norce Liendo and Roberto Liendo, her loving husband Antonio Aguilar and her four children and their spouses, Jorge "Georgie" Aguilar and Dr. Aileen Cardona Arroyo, Jaime Aguilar and Rachel Roberts Aguilar, Lorena Aguilar Ochoa and Johnny Ochoa, and Randy Aguilar and Alexandra Aguilar; and two step-children and their spouses, Perla Caraballo and Anthony Caraballo and Antonio Aguilar, Jr and Idalia Aguilar. Lupita treasured her precious time with her 12 loving grandchildren -- Arty Zambrano, Allison Ochoa, Sherlyn Ochoa, Eva Aguilar Cardona, Jax Aguilar, Anthony Ivan Caraballo, Kimberly Caraballo, Amber Caraballo, Jazzy Caraballo, Joseph Aguilar, Cory Aguilar, Emily Aguilar, and one great grandchild, Matthew Caraballo. She is predeceased by her brother Jorge "George" Espinoza (who is survived by his wife, Martha Espinoza).
The family will gather on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, departing at 9:15 am to Santa Rita de Casia Catholic Church, Rio Bravo, TX, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10am. Attendees are strongly advised to wear white clothing.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Lupita will be forever remembered for her kind-hearted soul, affectionate demeanor, and infectious optimism. Her memory and legacy will live on in all who came across her presence.
