  Maria Elena Castaño, 83, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on August 24, 2018 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Castaño is preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Gregoria Salinas. She is survived by her beloved husband Guillermo Castaño; children, Adriana C. (Adrian) Gonzalez, Guillermo, and Sylvia Castaño; sisters-in-law, Thelma C. (Luis) Garcia, Irma C. (Ramon) Barrios, and Alma Rosa (Mario) Molina; brothers-in-law, Jose Luis Castaño, and Mario (Yolanda) Castaño; grandchildren, Adrian Andres Gonzalez Jr., Ivanna M. Gonzalez, Briana Castaño, Tania Castaño, Maria P. Castaño, Guillermo Castaño Jr., Gerardo (Michelle) Calvo, Fernando (Danya) Calvo, and Armando Calvo. Mrs. Castaño is also survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church. There will be no formal procession. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
