Maria Del Pilar Sciaraffa, 81, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Laredo, Texas. She was a devoted Catholic who lived her life to the fullest. She always put everyone else’s needs before hers. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Our beloved mother was well-loved and known in our community. She was a very hard and dedicated worker with many people remembering her for all the years she worked at McClellan’s Department Store in downtown Laredo. She took great joy in spending her retired years amongst her friends from the Hamilton Senior Community who will greatly miss her.
Mrs. Sciaraffa is preceded in death by her loving parents, Santiago and Guadalupe Munoz; brother, Perfecto Munoz; the father of her children, Luis Sciaraffa, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Carlotita Trevino.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nora Sciaraffa (Ruben Ballesteros), Juan Jose (Olga) Sciaraffa, Olga Lydia (Noe+) Benavides, Patricia (Javier) Elizondo, Leticia (Rene) Rodriguez, Cynthia Sciaraffa and Frank Sciaraffa; siblings, Ramona (Eusebio+) Caudillo, Maria Luisa (Luis+) Romanos, Guadalupe (Juan Alberto+) Gonzalez, and Zulema (Roman) Rocha. Her brothers-in-law Ramon (Nelia+) Sciaraffa and Salvador (Rosa) Sciaraffa; sister-in-law, Margarita Volpe Martinez. Mrs. Sciaraffa is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons: Joey Sciaraffa, Trey Sciaraffa, Ryan Sciaraffa, Louie Elizondo, Luis Benavides, and Santiago Benavides.
We would like to thank Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa for always taking such good care of our mother. Also special gratitude to her dear friend, Martha Narvaez.
