Maria Eugenia Castelar

Maria Eugenia Castelar, 69, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, April 22, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Castelar; daughter, Patricia Bender; father, Felix Torres; sister, Marta Tijerina; mother-in-law, Dora Gonzalez Castelar; sister in law, Sylvia Castelar; and brothers-in-law, Juan Castelar, Emilio Castelar, and Javier Castelar.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carolina (Marty) Hood; grandchildren, Audrey Hood and Serena Bender; mother, Maria Eugenia E. Medina; siblings, Anna Torres, Felix (Eliza) Torres, Maria (Mario) Molina, Olga (Adrian) Valdez, and Juan Torres; sisters-in-law, Martha Castelar, Leticia (Walter) Elias, and Dora Castelar; and brother in law, Jaime Castelar.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Cigarroa Middle School, doctors and nurses at Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, and the nurses and staff at Brookdale Corpus Christi Trinity Towers.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 9:00 A.M. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. Joseph Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M.

Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
