Maria Paula "Paulita" Guardiola

La señora María Paula "Paulita" Guardiola, de 88 años entró en descanso eterno el 19 de mayo de 2023 en San Antonio, Texas.

La señora Maria Paula Puga viuda de Guardiola nació en el Ejido La Concordia del municipio de Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

Su sueño de niña siempre fue poder representar a sus compañeros campesinos. A pesar de que solo llego ir a la escuela hasta el tercer año de primaria por escases de maestros en la escuelita rural del mismo  ejido, dicho sueño logro ser realizado a lo largo del tiempo al ser postulada como Comisariada del Ejido La Concordia en dos ocasiones. Esto gracias al interés, el empeño y la honradez que la caracterizaban al atender el quehacer del núcleo ejidal y siempre velar por el beneficio de todos sus compañeros ejidatarios. Hasta los últimos días de su vida velo por el bienestar de ellos.

Toda su vida trabajo mucho para sus padres, hijos y nietos. Desde muy temprana edad ella comenzó a trabajar de sirvienta y a través de los anos trabajo en Amedee Frocks, Marglo Shop, y El Sol del Oriente. Al igual de trabajar al lado de su esposo en el mantenimiento de su rancho ejidal.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo: Guadalupe Guardiola; hijo: Eduardo Guardiola; hija: Irma Estela Guardiola; nietos: Eduardo Alejandro Guardiola y Adolfo De Luna; padres: Secundino y Porfiria Puga; hermanos: Francisco Silva, Luz de la Rosa, Teresa Guardiola, Ángel Puga y Francisca Soto.

Quedaron para atesorar su memoria su hija Ana Laura (Alejandro) De Luna de Helotes, TX; nieto: Ricardo (Yolanda) Guardiola; bisnietos: Germán Guardiola, Ricardo Guardiola, y Ariana Guardiola de Laredo, TX, Haylie Cola, Jayden Cola, y Kaylin Cola de San Antonio, TX, todos ellos eran la luz de su vida; hermana: María Mancillas de Schertz, TX, así como numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos en Ohio, Houston, San Antonio, Round Rock, Nuevo Laredo y Laredo, Texas, a quienes siempre recordó con mucho amor y cariño. Nunca se olvidó de ellos.

La familia recibirá las condolencias el martes 23 de mayo de 2023 de 5 a 9 pm en Hillside Funerals and Cremations; 310 oeste de Hillside Rd; donde se rezará un Rosario a las 7 pm.

La procesión fúnebre partirá de la capilla a las 10:00 am del miércoles 24 de mayo de 2023 hacia la Iglesia Católica Our Lady of Guadalupe, donde se celebrará una Misa de Cristiana Sepultura a las 10:30 am.

El sepelio seguirá en el Cementerio Católico.

Mrs. María Paula "Paulita" Guardiola, 88 years old, entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Maria Paula Puga, widow of Guardiola, was born in the Ejido La Concordia in the municipality of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

Her dream as a child was always to be able to represent her fellow farmers. Despite the fact that she only managed to go to school until the third year of primary school due to a shortage of teachers in the rural  ejido, said dream was fulfilled over time when she was nominated as Commissioner of the Ejido La Concordia on two occasions. This is thanks to the interest, commitment and honesty that characterized her when attending to the tasks of the ejidal nucleus and always ensuring the benefit of all her fellow ejidatarios. Until the last days of her life, she watched over their well-being.

All her life she worked hard for her parents, children and grandchildren. From a very early age she began working as a maid and over the years worked at Amedee Frocks, Marglo Shop, and El Sol del Oriente. As well as working alongside her husband in the maintenance of their ranch.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Guadalupe Guardiola; son: Eduardo Guardiola; daughter: Irma Estela Guardiola; grandchildren: Eduardo Alejandro Guardiola and Adolfo De Luna; parents: Secundino and Porfiria Puga; siblings: Francisco Silva, Luz de la Rosa, Teresa Guardiola, Ángel Puga and Francisca Soto.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughter Ana Laura (Alejandro) De Luna of Helotes, TX; grandson: Ricardo (Yolanda) Guardiola; great-grandchildren: Germán Guardiola, Ricardo Guardiola, and Ariana Guardiola of Laredo, TX, Haylie Cola, Jayden Cola, and Kaylin Cola of San Antonio, TX, all of them were the light of her life; sister: Maria Mancillas of Schertz, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews in Ohio, Houston, San Antonio, Round Rock, Nuevo Laredo, and Laredo, Texas, whom she always remembered with much love and affection. She never forgot about them.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 5-9pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations; 310 West Hillside Rd; where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 pm.

The funeral procession will depart from the chapel at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am.

Burial will follow at the Catholic Cemetery.
