Maria Perez Castaneda

Mrs. Maria Mercedes Perez de Castañeda, 93, entered into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on December 1, 2023, in Laredo, Texas, and is now rejoicing in the presence of all those have have gone before her, especially her beloved husband, Ramon Castañeda.  She is also preceded in death by her parents: Jose A. Perez and Maria de las Mercedes Flores; siblings: Jovita A. Caballero, Jose A. Perez Jr., Juventina A. Perez, Jorge A. Perez, and Judith A. de la Cruz.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter: Mercedes E. Castañeda; her adored fur babies: Angie, Demi, Abril, as well as her numerous feline babies that she loved to take care of, as well as nieces, nephews, an extended group of relatives and friends.

We cannot express our most sincere gratitude to her caregivers and healthcare workers that so diligently took care of my beloved mom. 

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.

Funeral procession will depart the chapel at 11 am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Dr. Pedro Castañeda Jr., Hector Castañeda, Mario Caballero, Margarito Rendon, Enrique Oliva Jr., Francisco Martinez.
