Olga A. Chavez

Olga A. Chavez, 78, went to be with her Lord and joined her husband in heaven on July 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sergio “Teco” Chavez Sr.; parents, Jesus Garza and Olivia R. Garza; and siblings, Oscar Garza, Francisco Javier Garza, Mario Garza, and Rene Garza.

Mrs. Chavez is survived by her loving brother, Alfonso Garza; children, Veronica Chavez and Sergio “Teco” Chavez Jr. (Mireya Mancha); her grandchildren, John Anthony Fuentes, Priscilla Fuentes (Ruben Martinez III), Amanda Fuentes, Kimberly Renee Rodriguez, Stephanie Rae Rodriguez, and Sergio “TC” Chavez III; and her great grandchildren, Lyanna Dominguez, Violet Dominguez, Olivia Martinez, Dejanea Martinez, Ruben B. Martinez, Janine Ramirez, and Caleb Ramirez.

Olga worked with the Webb County Head Start Program for 30 years and built many great friendships over the years. Teaching children was her passion. Her retirement life was filled with spending lots of quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the service will be Sergio “Teco” Chavez Jr., Sergio “TC” Chavez III, Juan Fuentes Jr., John Anthony Fuentes, Alfonso Garza, and Ramiro Soto, and honorary pallbearer, Caleb Ramirez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 8:00am to 10:45am at Hillside Funerals and Cremations.

Funeral procession will depart at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 11:00 am.
