Olga Elodia Mireles, 78, of Laredo, Texas passed away January 1, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on March 10, 1944 to parents Fortunato and Elena O. Mireles in Rio Grande City, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents (Fortunato & Elena) and 2 brothers (Jose & Fidel).

Olga is survived by her only son, Fortunato (Mary); 2 grandchildren she absolutely loved, Jessica (Ricky) and Fort Jr.; her sister, Ofelia (Rolando); brothers, Manuel (Ana) and Fortunato (Isabel); and nieces and nephews.

Olga entered the workforce right after graduation where she worked different jobs during her life. She was a single parent who played the role of mother and father in a time when it was very difficult. Despite these struggles, Olga provided a loving and warm home for her son with the help of her mom. She taught her son to be respectful, appreciative, and grateful. She loved her pets to the fullest and treated them like they were her children. Although Olga has transitioned from this life and is in eternal rest, she will forever live on in our hearts. “I love you mom!” “We love you Tita!”

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5 until 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.

Visitation will continue Friday, January 6, 2023 from 7 am until 10 am at the funeral home, where a Liturgy of the Word will commence at 10 am.

Procession will form and depart to the Laredo City Cemetery for the Rite of Committal and Interment.
