Mr. Oscar Cesario Gonzalez, 67, entered into his eternal glory, after a faithful journey here on earth, on November 2, 2023, in Laredo, Texas, having been faithfully surrounded by his loving and caring family by his side.
Oscar was born in Laredo, Texas on January 13, 1956, the son of Roque Cesario Gonzalez and Amparo Cantu de Gonzalez. He proudly entered the US Marine Corps on June 9, 1975, and continued his proud service in the US Marine Corps Reserve until 1980. He was very proud of his military service and continued it with service in the various law enforcement agencies, beginning with the Webb County Sheriff's Office, Laredo Police Department, US Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Border Protection until his retirement in 2013, after 28 years of government service.
He will be forever remembered and cherished by his loving family, friends, and relatives.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Roque Cesario and Amparo Cantu de Gonzalez; siblings: Eliza (Benny) Avila, and Diana (Jesus) Dominguez.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Rosaura S. Gonzalez; daughter: Gina Lorraine (King) Mills; son: Oscar Cesario (Theodora M.) Gonzalez; grandchildren: Hedilberto Cortez III, Nataly Lorraine Moreno, Elijah King Mills, Justin King Mills, Noah Brooks, Nochtli Luna Gonzalez; siblings: Julia S. Gonzalez, Esmeralda (Juan Carlos) Villarreal, Roxella (Isauro) Jimenez, and Ariel M. Gonzalez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Rosary will be offered for the repose of his soul at 7 pm.
Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 8:30 am on Thursday, November 9, 2023, to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 am.
Rite of Committal and Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in the family plot. Military Honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post 59 and the US Marine Corps Flag Detail.
Pallbearers will be: Oscar C. Gonzalez Jr., King Mills III, Hedilberto Cortez III, Ariel M. Gonzalez, Cesar Jimenez, Ricardo Villarreal, Manuel Antonio Cadena, and Marco Arturo Cadena.
