Raul Quijano

Raul Quijano, 83, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, surrounded by his beloved family at home in Laredo, Texas.

Raul was known as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, respectable man, and hard worker who entirely devoted his entire life to his family and business. After many years helping his mother in El Azteca Tortilleria, Mr. Quijano established his own company in 1985 known as Mayan Tortilleria. In 2011, Raul retired from his business and enjoyed the years with his beautiful wife, Maria, 49 years of marriage, five well-rounded children, and numerous amazing grandchildren. 

Mr. Quijano is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Virginia Quijano, siblings Maria de los Angeles Pena, Francisca Harrell, and Teresa Kontogeorgis.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Maria de la Luz Quijano; children Norma Alicia (Viviano) Chavarria, Raul (Lesly) Quijano Jr., Ricardo (Angelica) Quijano, Hilda Laura (Jeremy) Brown, and Griselda Quijano; 18 grandchildren; siblings, Jesus (Sandra) Quijano and Diana (Roberto) Rangel. Mr. Quijano is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 25, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 7:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.
