Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend to many passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Laredo, Texas.
She was born on May 22, 1933, in Veracruz, Mexico and grew up in Reynosa, Mexico. She was a woman of great faith. She touched so many lives with her unconditional kindness and warm heart. Everyone who met her felt enamored with her love and strength.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Trinidad Herrera.
She is survived by her children, Maria del Rosario Mendoza, Gustavo (Rocio) Herrera, Roberto Herrera, and Miguel (Alicia) Herrera; grandchildren, Sophia, Carolina, Andrea, Adrian, Daisy, Roberto, Natalia, Patricia, Gustavo Jr., and Mario. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Francisco Javier Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. There will be no formal procession, all attending are asked to please meet at the church. A cremation will be held at a later date.
