With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away; Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hardworking hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best”. Roberto Alvear, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 26, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Alvear retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 40 year of service. He is preceded in death by his parents Marcos and Sofia Alvear; Siblings Aurelio, Marcos and Yolanda Alvear. Robert Alvear is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Angelica Alvear. His children, Sophia, (Sergio) Soliz, Marcos (Adriana) Alvear, Robert Alvear, Yolanda Alvear, Angelica (Salvador) Sosa, Enrique Alvear, and Jennifer (Jose Luis) De La Cruz. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as survived by numerus nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, October 28, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 9:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow to the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
