Santa Elizabeth Gutierrez, 72, was called by our Lord and Savior to His heavenly kingdom on Monday, July 4, 2022.
The Pillars of Santa’s rich life were family, her faith, friendship, and joy. Her acquired love of travel with family and friends enriched her life with adventures that took her to the ends of the earth. The mountains and also cities of Europe, the holy landmarks of her faith Rome and Jerusalem, and the far-flung wonders of South America and Australia. As adaptable as she was in her travels, her work life was similarly without restriction in her ability to exceed. From an extended experience in banking to a switch to business management alongside her husband for 16 years at the family-owned Professional Pharmacy, she applied herself according to her impeccable standards.
After retirement in 2003, she determinedly decided to broaden her horizons, becoming somewhat of a gym aficionado. Zumba and spinning classes filled her spare time, along with picking up an avid birding hobby that included organizing events highlighting South Texas as a birding destination. Two of her hobbies that singularly defined all her years was a love of showing happiness through her megawatt smile, and a penchant for dancing to music. She embodied the phrase joie de vivre.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Altus Hospice for their skilled and caring staff whose support and guidance helped us navigate this challenging life event. Vicki, Jorge, Jerry, and Blanca, we are grateful for your caring hearts and hands.
A very special thanks to her little sister, Guille, who stood beside her hand and foot, and her sister-in-law, Juvencia Rodriguez, RN for her special nursing skills. Our Super Heroes.
