Sonia T. Rangel

Sonia T. Rangel, 76, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Rangel was born on August 08, 1943, in Laredo, Texas.Mrs. Rangel was a dedicated teacher for more than 20 years at both LISD and UISD. Mrs. Rangel is preceded in death by her loving husband, Efren Ramiro Rangel and parents, Alfredo Treviño and Amparo C.Treviño. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christina (Jaime J.) Castro, Araceli (Rolando) Cornejo, and Efren R. (Josephine) Rangel Jr.; grandchildren, Christen N. (Yasmara Aguilar) Castro, Cheyenne A. Castro, Rolando Cornejo Jr., Sophia I. Cornejo, Ernesto D. Cornejo, Ian R. Rangel, and Andres Rangel; and sister, Beatriz Ovalle. Mrs. Rangel is also survived by nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin De PorresCatholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow to the family plot of the City of Laredo Cemetery.
