Zenaida H. Martinez

Zenaida H. Martinez, 91, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Martinez entered our heavenly gates received by Tomás Martinez Jr. (husband), Tomás Martinez III (son), Geronimo and Zenaida P. Hernandez (parents), Refugia Hernandez, Josefina H. Gonzalez, Antonieta H. Garza, Juan J. Hernandez, Reymundo Hernandez (siblings). Zenaida was a beautiful person, everyone that met her instantly fell in love with her. Her smile was infectious and delightful, no one in her presence was ever a stranger. She was a selfless and giving individual always offering to lend a hand. She loved to share her rich family history, telling stories and ensuring her children and grandchildren knew about their family. She is survived by her children, Rebecca N. (Jesus) Briones, Lydia M. (Eduardo+) Rodriguez, Anna Laura (Randy) Counts, and Danny Martinez. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Rafa Velasco for always being loving and devoted to Mrs. Martinez. A vigil will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 9:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30. It is with a heavy heart that family members will only be able to attend mass and burial services at this time due to the pandemic. Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Martinez, J. Henry Briones, Mario P. Rodriguez, Eddie G. Rodriguez Jr, George Aguilar, Hector Palos. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jesus E. Briones, Pantaleon Torres, and Rafa Velasco.
